About FAB

"The mission of the Freshman Activities Board is to provide exceptional programming for the freshmen class while at the same time developing the members into leaders at the Greorgia Tech community."

Although the name Freshman Activities Board implies a devotion only to the freshman class, FAB's impact on campus reaches far beyond the East Campus Quad. With 30 bright, enthusiastic freshman and a $10,000 budget from the Freshman Experience Program, FAB sets out to make Georgia Tech a better place. Members are developed into campus leaders as they gain experience planning successful events, interacting in a teamwork environment and collaborating with other organizations.

What is FAB?

Freshman Activities Board (FAB) is a freshman leadership organization composed of 15 guys and 15 girls. FAB plan events for the freshman class while learning to be campus leaders.

How does FAB plan events?

The members of FAB completely decide on what events they would like to hold and use a budget of $10,000 given by Housing's Freshman Experience Program. Members plan and execute these events on their own, but have the help of seven upperclassmen advisors.

Why Apply?

As a member of FAB, you'll be an important part of campus life. You'll make some of your best friends at college. You'll grow as a leader and as a person. And you'll have an amazingly great time!

What do the advisors do?

The advisors are in charge of recruiting, interviewing, and selecting each year's new members. They are a source of information for the members and guide them along in the planning process. They also plan many social activities for the members throughout the year including a fall retreat, a spring Banquet, and Fresh Formal.

Where does FAB's budget come from?

FAB's $10,000 budget comes from Georgia Tech's Freshman Experience Program.

What are the meeting times?

FAB meets every Tuesday night from 8:30 to 10:00.

Do I have to have previous experience planning events?

Absolutely not. A majority of the members have zero experience planning events.

Our application must be submitted no later than Wednesday, August 27 at 8:00 PM. Please note that to be considered, you must be able to attend the mandatory retreat, as well as the weekly meetings every Tuesday at 8:30 PM. Please see dates below:
